Nolan Venable

Nolan Venable

Founder/President

Nolan began his electrical career in 1991, gaining hands-on experience as a field service and motor repair technician. In 2000, he founded Patriot Automation and Controls, which became a leading electrical service provider in the Permian Basin and earned several economic development awards. After selling the company in 2013, Nolan launched Matador Instrument and Electrical in 2018. The business has since grown to include offices in San Angelo, Monahans, Andrews, and across southeast New Mexico. Nolan is a husband, father of two, and grandfather. He serves on the boards of the West Texas Rehab Center and Christoval Volunteer Fire Department, and is actively involved in his church and community.

Michael Adams

Michael is a seasoned leader with over 20 years of experience in leadership roles, including over a decade in positions such as COO, CEO, and President. Michael lives in San Angelo, Texas and holds a BBA (2001) and MBA (2007) from Angelo State University. Michael is deeply committed to his wife Brenda and two children, Breelyn and Brayden. His hobbies include coaching youth sports, lawncare, staying active through exercise, and playing pickleball. He has been recognized for his contributions to the community and professional excellence; Michael earned prestigious honors such as being named one of the "Top 20 Under 40" by the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce and was a recipient of the 2018 San Angelo "Pillars of the Community" award. Michael and his family attend Paul Ann Baptist Church in San Angelo, TX.

Mark Edens

CFO

As CFO of Matador, Mark oversees all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, planning, corporate finance, and asset management. With nineteen years in finance, he has helped companies grow through smart financial strategies. His career began as a loan officer, then cost accountant, before stepping into leadership as regional business leader for a Fortune 200 company. He later became director of finance and then VP of revenue at an IT firm. Now, he's proud to serve Matador, a respected industry leader. Mark holds an MBA from Angelo State and a BBA from Midwestern State. A Sweetwater, TX native, he enjoys life with his wife Rebecca and kids, Ava and Mason. Outside work, he coaches, invests, works out, and serves as a church deacon and finance chair. A passionate outdoorsman, he loves hunting, fishing, and being in nature.

Chris grew up on a cattle farm in Indiana, where he developed a strong work ethic and a passion for fixing things. After working in construction and manufacturing, he discovered his interest in automation at Patriot Automation in 2006. Starting with control panels, he quickly advanced into field construction and programming. He joined Matador in its first year as Chief Information Officer, where he now leads the automation and IT departments, driving the company’s digital strategy. Chris lives in San Antonio with his wife Sarah and their two children, Hunter and Maxton. He enjoys cooking, spending time outdoors, and exploring new technology with his family.

Melissa Jones

Vice President of Business Development

Hailing from San Angelo, TX, Melissa has built a remarkable career in business development and automation sales. A graduate of Lake View High School, she went on to earn a B.B.A. in Management from Angelo State University. With over 20 years of experience in business development and 14 years specializing in automation sales, Melissa has the experience and skill set to drive growth. Melissa is well known in the industry and has built long-lasting relationships due to her integrity. She resides in Odessa, TX, and enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, reading, listening to music, singing, fishing, and hiking. She is married to Hunter, and together they have a daughter, Landrie Grace, who has a passion for jujitsu.

Isaac Griner

Vice President of Operations

Isaac was born and raised in Big Lake, Texas, where he graduated from Reagan County High School. With over 30 years of hands-on electrical experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to his new role as Vice President of Operations. His career began in 1991 at a motor shop, followed by work installing ESPs downhole. In 1995, he officially started his electrical career as an apprentice, steadily growing his skills to become a master electrician. In 1997, he moved to San Angelo and joined Nolan, who later invited him to help launch Patriot Automation in 2000. Over the next 15 years, he played a key role in building the company from the ground up. In 2015, he joined EOG Resources, where he spent the last decade honing his leadership skills and deepening his industry expertise. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time at home, playing golf, and making music. He is married to Linda, and together they have three children and two beloved grandchildren.
